Ten minutes from Guildford, an hour from London, and a world away from a hotel lounge.
Guildford has plenty of places for coffee and cake. If you want an afternoon tea that feels like a small escape, we are just out in the Surrey Hills at Silent Pool. Close enough for a treat, far enough to feel like you have gone somewhere.
It suits birthdays, family visits, thank-you gifts and the kind of afternoon when a scone and a pot of tea will not quite do.
Out past Newlands Corner
We are on the A25 between Guildford and Dorking, on the Albury Estate, about ten minutes from town and a short hop from Newlands Corner, where Agatha Christie’s car was famously found in 1926. The barn overlooks Silent Pool, with free parking and room on the patio for the dog.
